Pay Your Bill
Policies placed through Amwins are billed either by the company that issued them or through our office, not by Amwins. Your invoice will say who to pay, and if it is not clear, call us and we will sort it out.
Claims
A claim goes to the insurance company named on your policy, not to Amwins. Because the company varies from policy to policy, call our office first and we will tell you exactly who to report to and stay with it.
About Amwins
Amwins is not an insurance company. It is the largest specialty insurance distributor we work through, placing about $48.8 billion in premium a year across more than forty-four thousand underwriter relationships. It is also employee owned, with roughly 1,875 of its own people holding shares.
For us that scale means options. Amwins has a division for small commercial accounts that can bind quickly, and specialists for the complicated end: property, casualty, professional lines, and industry programs. Whichever company ends up writing your policy, their name is the one on it, not Amwins.
Where Amwins tends to fit
Amwins is usually the widest net we can cast when a risk does not fit the companies we are appointed with directly, from a small commercial account that needs a quick turnaround to property, transportation, construction, healthcare, and real estate exposures that need a specialist. If one of our direct companies can write it, that is almost always the better deal. Either way, we quote across everyone we write with before recommending anything.
