Claims
If you are not sure you have a claim, call the hotline first. That is what it is for, it is free, and it does not start a claim file. Reporting something that turns out to be nothing still sits on your record.
Where a claim goes depends on when your policy started. Policies effective January 1, 2024 and later are handled by AIG; earlier ones by Wilson Elser, and AXIS policies have their own address. The claims page lists all three, or call us and we will send it to the right one.
About Attorneys Advantage
Attorneys Advantage is Aon’s malpractice program for law firms, built for the small and mid-sized firm of roughly one to twenty-five attorneys. It has been in the lawyers professional liability market for more than thirty-five years and covers over twelve thousand firms. Limits run to five million per claim and five million aggregate, with deductibles from nothing up to a hundred thousand.
The part worth knowing about is the risk management hotline. Before you report anything, a firm on this program gets up to two free hours of confidential legal consultation through Wilson Elser to work out whether there is actually a claim, and using it does not report one. There is also a risk education program carrying three continuing education credits a year. Policies are underwritten by AXIS or AIG depending on the year.

Attorneys Advantage tends to fit the small or solo firm that needs malpractice coverage and the judgment that goes with it: one to twenty-five attorneys, general practice or a specialty, and a partner who would rather ask a question early than find out later. If your situation is more complicated, we represent companies that specialize in it. Either way, we quote across everyone we write with before recommending anything.
