GUARD takes payments on its general customer service line rather than a billing line of its own, so we do not list a number here. Call our office and we will take care of it.
Claims
Have your policy number ready. For a workers compensation claim GUARD also wants the employer tax ID, the injured employee’s Social Security number, and any accident report; for commercial auto, the driver’s name, address, and phone number.
About BH GUARD
GUARD writes small and mid-sized commercial business through about five thousand independent agencies. It started in Wilkes-Barre in 1983 as a workers compensation specialist, Berkshire Hathaway bought it in 2012, and it now underwrites through four companies: AmGUARD, EastGUARD, NorGUARD, and WestGUARD.
This is a third Berkshire Hathaway company, separate from Berkshire Hathaway Homestate and biBERK, which we also represent. All three have their own appetites and their own claims operations, so the one on your policy is the one to deal with. In West Virginia, GUARD writes the business owners policy, commercial auto, commercial umbrella, and workers compensation.

GUARD tends to fit small and mid-sized businesses that want workers compensation and a business owners policy with one company: contractors, restaurants, retail stores, offices, auto repair, hotels, and habitational accounts.
