Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies, usually shortened to BHHC, is a group of property and casualty insurers owned by Berkshire Hathaway and based in Omaha, Nebraska. It started as eight separately managed regional companies and has been in business more than fifty years. It has held an A++ (Superior) rating from AM Best for thirty-four consecutive years, the highest rating AM Best gives.
BHHC works through independent agents and brokers. In West Virginia the two things it writes best are property that a standard company will not touch and commercial auto, so that is what we bring to them.
Where BHHC tends to fit
BHHC tends to fit buildings a standard company will not write: houses and commercial buildings sitting vacant, property under renovation, rental buildings, warehouses, and mini-storage.
