A claim goes to the insurance company named on your policy, not to Blitz. Because the company varies from policy to policy, call our office first and we will tell you exactly who to report to and stay with it.
About Blitz
Blitz is not an insurance company. It is a managing general underwriter, which means it underwrites and issues excess and surplus lines policies on behalf of the companies that carry the risk. Its paper is rated A- (Excellent) XV by AM Best.
What it does differently is speed. A surplus lines quote that used to take days of paperwork comes back in minutes here, which matters when a closing date or a job start is waiting on a certificate. The company that issues the policy is the name on it, not Blitz.
Where Blitz tends to fit
Blitz fits smaller commercial risks that still have to go to the surplus lines market: buildings you own and lease out, vacant commercial property, builders risk on a job in progress, contractors, retail and service businesses, auto services, and special events. If a company we represent directly can write it, that is almost always the better deal. Either way, we quote across everyone we write with before recommending anything.
