Do not be thrown by the name. If the policy says AIG or American General, this is the company that pays it, and the number on the policy still works.
A beneficiary needs the policy number and a certified death certificate. Call our office first and we will start the claim and stay with it. On a policy this old, finding the current administrator is half the work, and that is our job rather than the family’s.
About Corebridge
If you are looking for AIG life insurance, this is it. AIG spun its life and retirement business off in 2022 and renamed it Corebridge Financial, and it is now its own public company. The name on the policy did not change: these are still issued by American General Life Insurance Company, the same company that issued them under the AIG banner, so an older policy that says AIG or American General is serviced here.
We write Corebridge for life insurance. Term, guaranteed universal life, and indexed universal life, from a company that has been one of the larger writers of individual life in the country for decades under one name or another.
Where Corebridge tends to fit
Corebridge tends to fit a large term policy where price per thousand is what decides it, or guaranteed universal life bought to be permanent and left alone. It is also who you talk to about an existing AIG or American General policy. If your situation is more complicated, we represent companies that specialize in it.
