Claims
A death claim goes to the insurance company that issued the policy, Banner Life or Protective, not to Ethos. Call our office and we will identify the company, get the claim forms started, and deal with them for you.
About Ethos
Ethos is not an insurance company. It is a life insurance platform, and the policies it sells are issued by established companies including Banner Life, rated A+ (Superior) by AM Best, and Protective Life. The company that issues yours is the name on the policy, not Ethos.
Its whole point is getting coverage in force quickly. Most applicants answer health questions instead of taking a paramedical exam, and a policy can be approved the same day rather than in the six to eight weeks a fully underwritten application usually takes.
Where Ethos tends to fit
Ethos fits people who need life insurance in place now: a new mortgage, a new baby, a business loan requiring coverage, or anyone who has been putting off the exam for a year. It is generally strongest for healthy applicants buying term. If your health history is complicated, a fully underwritten policy shopped across more companies usually prices better. Either way, we quote across everyone we write with before recommending anything.
