Have a question or a claim? Call us first.
If Jon Parrack Insurance is your agent, call us at 304-675-4132 before you call the company. We know your policy, we know the adjusters, and we will walk it through with you. The links and numbers below are for after hours, or for when you just want to pay a bill. If your Jewelers Mutual policy is with another agent, the links below will get you to the right place.
Pay Your Bill
Keep your appraisal current. Jewelers Mutual generally wants one from the last few years, and an out-of-date appraisal is the usual reason a settlement comes in under what a piece is worth today.
Their published number is a general personal policy line, so we do not list it here. Call our office and we will handle it.
Claims
Jewelers Mutual takes claim questions by email at plclaims@jminsure.com rather than on a claims phone line, so there is no number to list.
Send whatever you have on the piece: the appraisal, the original receipt, and photographs. If it was stolen, file a police report and get the report number. If a stone came out and you still have the setting, keep it and do not have it repaired before the claim is looked at.
About Jewelers Mutual
Jewelers Mutual was started in 1913 by a group of Wisconsin jewelers who could not buy the coverage they needed, and jewelry is still the only thing it does. That is the reason to use it: the underwriters, the appraisal review, and the claims adjusters all work on jewelry and nothing else, and the company has held an A+ (Superior) rating from AM Best for thirty-nine years running.
The policy is a standalone one, not an endorsement bolted onto your homeowners. That means a separate limit that does not eat into your home coverage, no deductible on most losses, and coverage for the ways rings actually disappear: a stone lost out of its setting, a piece that simply vanishes, damage, theft, and loss anywhere in the world. A homeowners policy typically caps jewelry theft at a low internal limit, which is the gap this fills.
Where Jewelers Mutual tends to fit
Jewelers Mutual tends to fit anyone with a piece worth more than the jewelry limit on their homeowners policy: an engagement ring, an inherited set, a watch collection, or a client who travels with what they own. It is the specialist market for this, not a sideline. If your situation is more complicated, we represent companies that specialize in it. Either way, we quote across everyone we write with before recommending anything.
