About ERGO NEXT
NEXT Insurance was founded in 2016 by three people who had tried to buy small business insurance and found it slow, confusing, and priced for somebody bigger. It now covers more than 750,000 small businesses across over 1,300 professions.
In 2025 the ERGO Group, a Munich Re subsidiary and one of the largest insurers in Europe, bought NEXT, and the company became ERGO NEXT Insurance. That backing is why it now carries an A+ (Superior) rating from AM Best. Coverage and service did not change with the name.

ERGO NEXT tends to fit smaller businesses that want coverage bound fast and priced for their size: contractors and trades, cleaning services, consultants, retail shops, food and beverage, fitness and beauty.
