About Openly
Worth saying before anything else: Openly does not write West Virginia. It writes Ohio, which is why we have it. If the house is across the river this is a real option, and if it is on the West Virginia side we will place it with one of the other companies on this page.
Openly writes premium homeowners insurance and sells through independent agents only, with no direct channel at all. It is a program administrator rather than an insurance company, and the policy is issued by Rock Ridge Insurance Company, an admitted carrier rated A- (Excellent) by AM Best, or by MS Transverse. The coverage is built for higher-value homes: up to five million dollars of guaranteed replacement cost, up to a million in liability, and blanket personal property rather than a schedule of individual items.

Openly tends to fit a well-kept Ohio home whose replacement cost has outrun what a standard company wants to insure, or an owner who would rather carry blanket personal property than schedule everything individually. It is a homeowners market and nothing else. If your situation is more complicated, we represent companies that specialize in it.
