About OpenRoad
OpenRoad does the same job as Hagerty and is nowhere near as well known, which is most of the reason to have it. On a collector car it is a second real quote rather than a token one. It launched out of Dallas in 2024 and has gone from nothing to roughly forty states in two years, and the man running it spent his career at Progressive, Hagerty, and Forge before starting it.
The coverage does what a collector policy should. Agreed value, so a total loss pays the number you and OpenRoad settled on rather than a depreciated one. Repairs use original manufacturer parts at whatever shop you pick. Glass carries no deductible, and tools and spare parts are covered. It writes antiques, muscle cars, modern performance cars, street rods, replicas, customs, military vehicles, and antique tractors. One thing OpenRoad does not publish is which company issues the policy: Open Road Insurance LLC is the agency, and the carrier’s name will be the one on your declarations page.
Where OpenRoad tends to fit
OpenRoad tends to fit the same car Hagerty would take, which is exactly why it is worth quoting both: a restored or original collector car, a muscle car, a modern performance car kept for weekends, a street rod or a custom.
